Description

Grace in every detail. A reminder that we can adapt, grow, and keep moving.

The Adom Shell Drops are handcrafted from upcycled coconut shells, bringing together Ghanaian symbolism, natural beauty, and sustainability. Adom means “grace” in Akan, a fitting name for earrings that are lightweight, earthy, and full of character.

Each pair is handmade in Ghana by our Fair Trade partner Akooshi, whose artisans transform discarded coconut shells into wearable art. What might otherwise become waste is given a new purpose through creativity and craftsmanship.

The Meaning Behind the Symbol

Denkyem — Adaptability & Resourcefulness

Denkyem means “crocodile.” Because the crocodile lives in water yet breathes air, the Adinkra symbol represents adaptability, versatility, and the ability to thrive in different environments.

For us, that meaning feels especially fitting for this piece. The earrings can serve as a reminder that life asks us to adjust, grow, and navigate change—while still remaining grounded in who we are.

Denkyem also beautifully reflects the resourcefulness behind the earrings themselves: artisans taking something as simple as a discarded coconut shell and transforming it into something meant to be treasured and worn.
