2025 Impact Report
Our 2025 Impact: What We Built Together
At Ayebea’s Sankofa Marketplace, we often say that what we offer goes far beyond products. It’s people. It’s relationships. It’s dignity. And in 2025, those values showed up in very real, tangible ways. This year reminded us that impact isn’t always loud, but it is lasting.

Centering Artisans, Always
In 2025, we continued to work directly with artisan partners across Ghana, ensuring fair wages, consistent orders, and long-term relationships rooted in trust.
Every handmade piece sold helped support:
-
Women-led cooperatives and small workshops
-
Family-run enterprises preserving generational craft
-
Sustainable practices using recycled, upcycled, and natural materials
From recycled glass beadmakers in Somanya, Krobo, to basket weavers in Bolgatanga, to shea butter producers in Navrongo, each partnership reflected our commitment to people over profit. This work isn’t transactional; it’s relational. We visit. We listen. We learn. And we grow together.

What that looked like in practice:
-
Paying artisans directly and consistently
-
Investing back into artisan communities
-
Prioritizing ethical sourcing and sustainable materials
-
Choosing slower, more intentional production over mass output
Fair Trade, for us, is not a label; it’s a responsibility.

Giving Back Through Community Partnership
Impact also meant stepping beyond the marketplace.
In collaboration with the GOPA Foundation, we supported the painting of two middle school buildings at Mampong Methodist Middle School, creating a brighter, more affirming learning environment for students.
We also proudly supported Periods with Dignity, a Girl Scout Gold Award project led by Leila, through which 110 reusable menstrual pads were donated to girls—supporting education, dignity, and access.
These moments mattered. They reminded us that business can—and should—be a tool for good.

Cultural Exchange Through Travel
2025 also marked a meaningful year of cultural connection through our collaboration with Adehye Roots Journeys.
Together, we organized two immersive trips to Ghana centered on:
-
Cultural education and heritage
-
Ethical tourism
-
Fair Trade engagement
-
Direct connection with artisans and communities
Travel became another way to tell the story—not just of where products come from, but why they matter.

What We Learned in 2025
This year reinforced a few truths we hold close:
-
Slow growth is still growth
-
Integrity always pays off—even when it’s quiet
-
Relationships matter more than reach
-
Community is the real measure of success
We are proud of what we built, but even more proud of how we built it.
Looking Ahead
As we move into 2026, our focus remains clear:
-
Deepen artisan partnerships
-
Expand our impact responsibly
-
Continue storytelling that centers people, not products
-
Grow with intention—not urgency
Thank you for being part of this journey. Every purchase, every share, every conversation helped make this year possible.
This is Sankofa in action—learning from the past, standing in the present, and building toward a future rooted in care.
With gratitude,
— Gina/ Nana Adwoa Denkyiraa I
